Personal Information Collected
We collect information from you in various ways when you use our Sites. We may automatically collect certain information through the use of “Cookies.” Cookies are small data files, which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your Web Browser from a website and transferred (and stored) on your device.

Pixel Tags/Web Beacons
We may use a pixel tag (also known as a web beacon), a piece of code embedded on the Site, that collects information about users’ engagement on that web page. Pixel tags allow us to record, for example, that a user has visited a particular web page or clicked on a particular advertisement
We use Local Storage (LS) such as HTML5 to store content information and preferences. Third parties with whom we partner to provide certain features on our site or to display advertising based upon your Web browsing activity use LS such as HTML5 to collect and store information. Various browsers may offer their own management tools for removing HTML5 LS.
Do Not Track Disclosure
We support Do Not Track (“DNT”). Do Not Track is a preference you can set in your web browser to inform websites that you do not want to be tracked. You can enable or disable Do Not Track by visiting the Preferences or Settings page of your web browser.
Communications & Use of Personal Information We Collect
We collect this information to effectively communicate with you and route your online inquiry to the appropriate SMA representative. We also collect this information to contact you with newsletters, marketing or promotional materials and other information that may be of interest to you.
In instances where you provide and/or submit information to SMA through email, our contact form(s), or via direct messages on social media networks (i.e., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) we may collect such information and post it on our Sites or within other material we produce.
We may also share your Personal Information or other information we collect about you with partners, affiliates, and/or third parties interested in serving you or informing you about their companies or organizations. Further use and/or disclosure of your information by such partners, affiliates, and/or third parties is not the responsibility of SMA. Rather, such use and/or disclosure is governed by the privacy policies of those partners, affiliates, and/or third parties’ privacy policies.
How You Can Opt-Out of Communications & Use of Personal Information We Collect
You may opt out of receiving any, or all, of these communications from us by: (1) following the unsubscribe link or instructions provided in any email we send, or (2) by contacting us via email at [email protected] with the subject line [Removal of Personal Information Request] or snail-mail addressed Scott McKellam Agency, Attention [Personal Information Records], 4025 Majestic Ln., Ste D-1, Fairfax, VA 22033 and asking for the removal of your Personal Information from our database and/or servers.
Updating and Accessing Your Personal Information
If your personal information changes, we invite you to correct or update your information as soon as possible. You can request changes or access to your information by emailing [email protected], including within the subject [Update of Personal Information].
We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Compliance With Laws
We will disclose your Personal Information where required to do so by law or subpoena or if we believe that such action is necessary to comply with the law and the reasonable requests of law enforcement or to protect the security or integrity of our Site, company and/or personnel.
The security of your Personal Information is important to us, and we strive to implement and maintain reasonable, commercially acceptable security procedures and practices appropriate to the nature of the information we store, in order to protect it from unauthorized access, destruction, use, modification, or disclosure.
However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and we are unable to guarantee the absolute security of the Personal Information we have collected from you.
Please also note, SMA has limited access and/or control over your Personal Information, typically restricted only to that which you’ve explicitly provided to us with intention. In most instances the Personal Information we are able to access is obtained through Third Party Controllers or Sub-Processors, such as:
- Google Analytics
- Host X Plus
Additionally, you should be aware that SMA may utilize Third Party Tools that analyze our Sites, or similarly situated company websites, such as SEMRush, WordStream, etc.. These Third Party Tools may provide us with data or information about you (or a similar user) acquired from other entities. We, believe you should be aware of such possibility, and should you have concerns, would encourage you to revisit your Web Browser privacy settings and/or feel free to reach out to us with potential questions (we may not be able to answer, but we’ll try).
Your information, including Personal Information, may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ than those from your jurisdiction.
If you are located outside the United States and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the information, including Personal Information, to the United States and process it there.

Our Site may offer publicly accessible blogs or community forums. You should be aware that any information you provide in these areas may be read, collected, and used by others who access them. In some cases, we may not be able to remove your personal information, in which case we will let you know if we are unable to do so and why.
Only persons age 18 or older have permission to access our Site. Our Site does not address anyone under the age of 13 (“Children”). We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Information from a child under age 13 without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.
California Privacy Rights
California Civil Code Section 1798.83 entitles California customers to request information concerning whether a business has disclosed Personal Information to any third parties for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes. We will not sell or share your Personal Information for marketing purposes without your consent.
